Transport and construction: specialised tools, synchronised in one platform

A TMS for transport companies, an ordering and tracking tool for construction companies, and synchronisation when both are connected: Nereva is a single platform in which each interface serves one trade. A look at this architecture and at what it means for each type of company.

One platform, not four products

Nereva is not four products. It is a single SaaS platform, with two web environments for the office and two apps for the field: the Transport back office and Nereva Transports on the transport side, the Construction back office and Nereva Commandes on the construction side. Beneath these interfaces, a single database, synchronised in real time and hosted in Switzerland, which each side looks at through its own window. Each company keeps its accounts, its roles, its permissions and its environment. The model is the same for everyone: one licence per assigned role, all features included, whatever the trade.

On the transport side: a complete TMS, usable on its own

The Transport back office receives the requests, runs the schedule and dispatch, tracks the fleet and the skip stock, produces the delivery notes and the statements. Nereva Transports gives each driver their day, heavy-vehicle navigation and the photos and proof to collect. Fleet tracking goes through the driver’s app, with no hardware; the skip stock is tracked by type and by state, the individual identification of each skip being under development.

This TMS does not depend on the carrier’s clients. When a client is not on Nereva, the carrier enters its requests in its back office, its drivers carry them out in Nereva Transports, and the client receives delivery notes, photos and statements as PDFs. What Nereva does not do on the transport side: vehicle maintenance, driving times, payroll.

On the construction side: order, track and document with your carriers

The Construction back office holds all the sites, their requests, their history and the carriers’ statements. Nereva Commandes lets the site order a skip, a waste removal or materials, follow the truck’s arrival and find its skips. The difference with the transport side is essential: execution depends on the connected partner carrier the company has chosen. Nereva provides neither truck, nor driver, nor skip, nor carrier, and is not a marketplace. Transport is autonomous; Construction works with its carrier. Nor is the Construction back office an ERP: accounting and payroll stay in the company’s own software.

The hybrid company: both environments in the same organisation

A hybrid company, in Nereva’s sense, is a construction company that actually runs its own transport activity: its trucks, its drivers, its dispatch. It uses the Construction environment for its sites and the Transport environment for its operations. The Transport back office is requested from the Construction back office, in the Partners section; the site’s request then arrives in the schedule of the in-house operations, and a request can still be sent to a connected partner carrier. A person present in both environments uses one licence per role.

Synchronisation, when the companies are connected

Three synchronisations follow one logic: the Transport back office with Nereva Transports, the Construction back office with Nereva Commandes, and the two companies with each other when they are connected. The partnership is formed between the two accounts by invitation, from either side; each remains free to accept or decline it. What is then synchronised, according to roles and permissions: the request, its scheduling, the steps of the mission, the photos and the delivery note, then the history. The site sees the truck linked to its active request, not the carrier’s fleet or its other clients. Synchronisation is not a condition: a carrier uses its TMS for all its clients, connected or not.

What Nereva does not do

Nereva is neither a carrier, nor a skip rental company, nor a supplier, nor a marketplace: it transports nothing, sells nothing and takes no commission. No auctions, no putting carriers in competition; the platform is paid only through the subscription. Nor does it optimise the schedule in place of the dispatcher, who decides; the anticipation engine EVA is under development.

Tools specialised by trade, a single platform, and synchronisation that is added when the companies are connected: this is how Nereva links transport and construction today.
