The Nice subsidiary strengthens EVA thanks to the Innovation Tax Credit

Nereva announces that its subsidiary Nereva France benefits from the Innovation Tax Credit (CII) for its research and development work devoted to EVA, Engine for Virtual Anticipation. This public support accompanies the work carried out on a technology designed to help structure, analyse and anticipate the flows of skips, waste, raw materials and materials transported by truck in the construction and civil engineering sector. EVA’s development is under way and the decision remains human.

Site logistics still fragmented

Despite their central role in the execution of sites, transport flows remain largely managed through heterogeneous processes and poorly interconnected tools. Rotation planning, truck assignment, execution monitoring and flow traceability still frequently rely on phone calls, spreadsheets or partial systems that do not faithfully reflect operational reality.

This fragmentation generates structural inefficiencies: empty runs, incomplete rotations, waiting times, desynchronisation between site, carriers and outlets, additional logistics costs and avoidable CO₂ emissions. These issues concern all operations, whatever their size or regulatory complexity.

EVA: what the anticipation engine is meant to bring

Developed by Nereva France, EVA is designed to use the data the platform already records on truck movements between sites, intermediate platforms and outlet facilities. The work concerns the qualification of rotations (skip configurations, truck types, associated carriers, operational needs), the estimation of certain variables and the recognition of waste, raw materials and materials from mission photos. The objective is finer visibility of the actual execution of transport, from collection to final destination.

Towards planning assistance: what is under development

From the data collected, the work aims at decision-support mechanisms: proposing an order of missions, groupings and time slots, spotting the day’s tensions and proposing adjustments. These proposals will be submitted to the operator, who validates, modifies or ignores them and keeps the assignment decision. These functions are under development.

Operational performance and environmental transition

The objective of this work is a better use of transport resources: fewer unnecessary journeys, better prepared rotations, and therefore an expected contribution to the reduction of CO₂ emissions linked to logistics activities. Structured flow traceability, available today in the platform, is already a digital foundation for meeting regulatory requirements on waste tracking and materials recovery.

The Innovation Tax Credit recognises the innovative nature of the work undertaken by Nereva France and supports its continuation. It makes it possible to intensify research and development efforts, strengthen the models and prepare, with no date announced, the progressive availability of new functions adapted to the operational and regulatory constraints of the different markets.

Site transport linked to waste, raw materials, materials and skips is still insufficiently structured and synchronised today. The lack of visibility of actual execution generates significant friction and limits the optimisation of operations. EVA was designed to turn these flows into a system driven by data and algorithms. The Innovation Tax Credit allows us to accelerate the industrialisation of this technology and strengthen its analysis and decision-support capabilities, in the service of more reliable, more efficient and more sustainable site logistics.
